Christian Runius was a young engineering student when he founded his first company in 2009. Even then, he had a burning passion for creation – not merely for the act of creating itself, but as a way to understand the world around him. Through design and innovation, he gave form to his thoughts on how things worked, how they could be improved, and what it took to solve the problems he observed in his surroundings. His girlfriend – now his wife – quickly learned what it meant to dine out with an aspiring engineer. The moment she turned her back, Christian would be peeking under the table to inspect how it was constructed.
For me, creation was never just about making something – it was about understanding the world and improving it, one step at a time.
The early years were marked by a challenging and often painful search. It wasn’t just about diving into product development projects across industries like Medtech, consumer goods, and manufacturing. It was also about mastering the entire process of sales, marketing, and customer communication. The question that constantly echoed in his mind was: How do you create something from a blank sheet of paper? This was more than just a metaphor – it was the defining challenge of his early entrepreneurial journey. How do you take an idea, something hidden and almost abstract, and transform it into a product that resonates and fulfills a genuine need?
Along the way, Christian realized that one thing consistently brought him the greatest sense of fulfillment – taking that extra step. It wasn’t just about designing a product but owning its entire journey. From the first idea on the drawing board to countless iterations and refinements, and finally, to delivering the finished product into the customer’s hands. This was where he felt most alive – at the intersection of vision and reality, of creativity and responsibility.
It wasn’t the task of being a consultant that drove him forward, but what lay beyond – the bigger picture, the end result, and, most importantly, the feeling of creating something that truly mattered. This realization evolved over time and became the foundation of the company he leads today.
